On Sunday night, as the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys broke for halftime at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (with the home team leading 16-13), the National Football League and Apple Music made a very special joint announcement.

Come Sunday, February 8, the halftime show at Super Bowl LX will be performed by none other than Bad Bunny.

Needless to say, the 31-year-old performer has been on a hot streak. He contributed hundreds of millions of dollars to Puerto Rico’s economy during his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” residency this summer, which followed the release of his celebrated sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, in January; he co-starred with Adam Sandler and Travis Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2; and next week, he will host the Season 51 premiere of Saturday Night Live.

The announcement follows several months’ worth of intense speculation, with Taylor Swift reportedly walking away from negotiations when the NFL refused her terms and the likes of Adele, Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Metallica, and BTS appearing on various short lists.

Bad Bunny will have a lot to live up to following Kendrick Lamar’s Emmy-winning set at Super Bowl LIX, when he invited SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, and Serena Williams to help him perform songs including “GNX,” “Squabble Up,” “Humble,” “Luther,” and “Not Like Us.” From the extraordinary choreography by Charm La’Donna to Lamar’s Celine denim, it was an evening to remember—but we can’t wait to see what’s in store from Benito in ’26.
