For the Fall-Winter 2025 show in Milan, Alberta Ferretti s newly appointed creative director Lorenzo Serafini looked to the past for inspiration: specifically, the late Franca Sozzani, historical director of Vogue Italia. The Italian journalist and editor was known for many things (beyond, of course, incredible fashion taste), including one very specific aesthetic choice that never wavered—blonde, wavy hair with a centered parting. It was a signature hallmark of her style.
And so, with Sozzani serving as muse for the season, only one hair-do would do for the models. Worn asually parted in the middle (not sharply or harshly) and gently curled by either nature or iron. The hair flowed freely in the wind as models walked with a casual self-assurance through the Palazzo Donizetti.
The show notes had a quote from Sozzani herself: “It is the big dreams that make people big. Small ones are desires. One should not be afraid to be ‘exaggerated’… at least in dreams.” And so, here are a few more Vogue editors we think would make dream runway hair inspirations: Chloe Malle, Chioma Nnadi, and Nicole Phelps.
