Real beauty girls know the Met Gala 2024 is the time to show off a new hair color, and Amanda Seyfried just gave us a masterclass. The star ditched her signature, long golden locks for a platinum-blue hue.
Her new hair feels fitting for this year’s theme. The color reads mystical and ethereal, as if Seyfried is one with the garden from which she emerged. As if the color transformation were not enough, hairstylist Renato Campora styled her mane to perfection with Kristin Ess hot tools—carefully placing strands in old Hollywood, face-framing curls along her forehead. The back, on the other hand, was placed into a sleek bun. The look was topped with a stunning diamond tiara by Chaumet, resembling leaves on a vine.
Onto glam: Seyfried relied on Lancôme to get her carpet-ready. Her makeup was classic—sporting a fresh face, gentle bronze, and fluttering eyelashes. The statement here, though, was a bright purple lip that paired well with her silver Prada gown fashioned with pinkish florals.
An experienced Met Gala attendee, we can always trust Seyfried to pull out a statement-making look without fail. Her 2023 look is one of our favorites of all time—also pulling cues from vintage glamour. Though instead of opulent pin curls, she did bouncy, voluminous curls that have now graced too many moodboards to count. Ever the beauty tastemaker, this now has us wondering if the girls will take a page from Seyfried s hair look again: will blue be the hair color of the summer?
