Austin is home to a large and diverse Mexican, Mexican American, Latino/a/x, and Tejano community, and on Saturday, the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center held its 15th annual Viva México celebration. It was an event celebrating community-based joy and togetherness—even in the face of the abhorrent treatment of Latin American migrants elsewhere. Photographer Hope Mora captured the scene; see all of Mora’s images from the event below.
