Though she immortalized “Diet Pepsi” in her sultry summer bop, Addison Rae drinks matcha and coffee to wake up in the morning—with a side of red lipstick. While walking Vogue through her 16-step skin-care and makeup routine, the rising pop star shares a lippy secret.
Holding a gilded tube of Lisa Eldridge True Velvet Lip Colour, the TikTok stalwart confides: “I do not wake up in the morning without immediately putting this on first. It is something I actually don’t think many people see me without!”
Dotting the “tiniest bit” of creamy color onto her lips, Rae reveals that the rosy Velvet Enchantment is her go-to hue. “I love this color; it’s the perfect color for me,” she says—and not just for her lips. Tapping a smidgen of lipstick onto her cheeks, Rae brightens up her complexion with “a little bit of a blush.” Now glowing, the 23-year-old says: “That’s truly my wake-up makeup routine.”
The routine does leave room for variation, however, especially if it comes in a Dior tube. Topping her lips and cheeks with the brand’s berry-hued tint, Rae says: “Sometimes I’ll use this in the morning, instead of the Lisa one.”
Though the multihyphenate is full of sartorial surprises—including swan feathers at the VMAs—it seems that her rose-tinted beauty look won’t go out of bloom soon. “I do think it’s really nice to have a staple look,” Rae muses. “Maybe my staple look is just a really blushy cheek and really pink lips!”
