As the Grammys wrapped—with Billie Eilish clutching her fifth award of the evening in her lime green talons—the night was only just beginning. In terms of after-parties, Grammys-goers had their pick of destinations in Downtown L.A., West Hollywood, and more. But this was also the case the previous night: From Nancy Pelosi turning up to support Diddy (yes, that happened) at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala to Diplo and Orville Peck twinning at the Sony Music Entertainment Grammy after-party. Below, some of the best moments of the weekend.
Cowboys Congregated in Hollywood at Sony Music Entertainment’s After-Party
Orville Peck and Diplo kept their country-western looks on for the remainder of the evening, swashbuckling their getups around NeueHouse’s Hollywood outpost for the Sony Music Entertainment after-party. Though the event didn’t bring out many of the night’s winners, some of music’s heavy-hitters were in attendance. There was Usher chatting it up with FKA Twigs (earlier in the night, the two performed a sultry pas de deux in homage to Prince) and John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen posing for pics with Cyndi Lauper. H.E.R. was also there, coming down from an impressive performance that showcased her mastery of both the piano and the electric guitar. So too was Rosalía, making this the after-party for Grammy performers.
The Billie Eilish Parade Continued at the Universal After-Party
Now dressed in a different pajama ensemble sprayed with Gucci logos, Billie Eilish rolled up to Rolling Greens (a furniture showroom by day, and a pulsing event space by night) in Downtown L.A. alongside brother Finneas O Connell and her parents. She made a beeline to a comfy couch in the back of the party, where she held court with her family. Elsewhere at the event was Beck, Lewis Capaldi, Maggie Rogers, and Celeste.
Nancy Pelosi Turned Up to a Dinner in Honor of Diddy
The Grammys delivered a lot of entertainment, but even more fun was the Pre-Grammy Gala hosted by Clive Davis in honor of Sean “Diddy” Combs the night before. With a guest list that rivaled (or, with Beyoncé there, perhaps surpassed) the Grammys’, the dinner included performances by Chance the Rapper, Cyndi Lauper, Khalid, John Legend, and more. (One could say they all sang a diddy for Mr. Diddy.) There was Cardi B, flaunting the how-low-can-you-go plunging neckline of her hot pink dress, and Naomi Campbell looking like a screen siren in all white. Lana Del Rey was there—the night marked her first official outing with beau Sean Larkin—as was Alexander Wang, Billy Porter, and Nancy Pelosi, who received as much applause as Diddy himself.
Bulova Hosted a Brunch on the Rooftop of the Grammy Museum
Along with bragging rights and a gilt statue of a megaphone, each first-time Grammy winner receives a watch by Bulova forged from the same metal as their awards and engraved with their names. It’s a time-honored tradition that was celebrated the Saturday before the awards ceremony at the Grammy Museum with a boozy brunch. Music was obviously on the itinerary: First a performance by New York-based singer Fletcher (who identifies as queer and purposefully omits pronouns from her lovelorn lyrics as to not exclude listeners), which was followed by a DJ set by Madame Gandhi. She played the drums on the rooftop and skillfully got a party started despite the early hour.
