Winter dressing is still in full effect, so think of these combinations as sartorial dressing cures for the now. All those shearling-obsessed, look no further; there are denim pairings a plenty, from Bella Hadid’s cool-girl flare and zipped jacket combo, to Lily-Rose Depp making a case for the return of the ’90s-inspired, distressed high-waist. And Kylie Jenner’s girls trip to Aspen had us immediately swapping our light wash jeans in favor of a dark rinse, to pair with fluffy, faux fur toppers and sleek loafers for the foreseeable future.
Still, we included plenty of transitional outfit opportunities, as well, for when those spring temperatures do start to hit. Take for instance, Rihanna’s answer to double-denim dressing—a Canadian tuxedo-inspired ensemble can be worn currently, under a chic, leather trench coat, then later on, sans outerwear. Likewise, Dua Lipa’s snakeskin-printed, statement coat can easily be set aside, with still, an extremely cool pairing underneath—relaxed jeans, a striped sweater, and knee-high boots, perfect for those soon-to-come, 60-degree days.

We love nothing more than a Canadian tuxedo, so when we saw Rihanna step out in this winning, denim-on-denim look, we had to recreate ASAP. True to her signature styling methods, a little edge is always added. Case in point, the use of a leather trench coat and some seriously stylish, snakeskin-print boots as styling add-ons, atop a jean jacket and roomy wide-legs, is pure genius. Whether worn day or night, this look feels just right.

Bella Hadid’s denim shape du jour these days is most definitely the flare. Whether it be a baby boot-cut or something bolder, we are very into the throwback shape that is definitely having its return moment. With winter temperatures still in full force, a shearling jacket is the natural choice for keeping warm and stylish.
