The 10 finalists for this year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund (CVFF) have the chance to have their collection stocked at Nordstrom Space, the retailer’s boutique dedicated to platforming emerging designers. It’s the first time the ‘Secure the Space’ challenge will be part of the programme.

On Tuesday, 25 July, the 10 finalists will present their collections to a team from Nordstrom, including EVP of apparel and designer Sam Lobban, women’s fashion director Rickie De Sole and men’s fashion director Jian DeLeon. The team will select one winning collection to be stocked at Space in select Nordstrom stores for a forthcoming season.

“We look forward to connecting with this year’s CVFF class in a new way through the Secure the Space challenge,” Lobban said in a statement. “Discovering and supporting emerging talent is at the core of Space at Nordstrom, and we are excited to showcase the challenge winner to our customers at Nordstrom NYC in the coming months.”

The fund was established by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue to help emerging designers in New York City’s fashion industry — a goal tying into that of Nordstrom’s Space, which was established in 2015. This year’s 10 finalists are Colin LoCascio; Everard Best and Téla D’Amore of Who Decides War; Kozaburo’s Kozaburo Akasaka; Melitta Baumeister; Kim Shui; Tanner Fletcher founders Fletcher Kasell and Tanner Richie; Zankov’s Henry Zankov; 4S Design’s Angelo Fabricio Urrutia; Sami Miró of Sami Miro Vintage and Diotima’s Rachel Scott.

Nordstrom has been a partner of the fund since 2006, and, since 2021, the retailer has worked with the CFDA and Vogue to provide finalists space to showcase their work in its New York City flagship.
