“Girl, just do it!” singer-songwriter and 5-time Grammy nominee Coco Jones says as she welcomes Vogue into her bathroom. We re here to learn all the secrets behind her everyday skincare routine and 14-step beauty makeup routine.

First, of course, is a cleanser. “I like something simple, but with a purpose,” Jones says as she works up The Inkey List s Salicylic Acid Cleanser into a nice lather. And while she confesses, “I don t fully know what toner does,” she s still using it ("it does something")—skipping the cotton pad and just using her palms to pat the product into place.

“One thing about a dark spot is it s going to be there for a cute three to four business months,” she says. “I m trying to avoid that process entirely.” The products that help her do that include Tatcha s The Dewy Skin Cream, Shisedo s Urban Environment Oil Free Sunscreen SPF 42 ("All my melanin queens, you do need sunscreen girl!" she proclaims), and Glow Recipe s Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum. Finishing off with the classic Laneige Lip Glowy Balm,  Jones is feeling “glow dot com” and is ready to move into her makeup routine.

While she brushes and sets her fluffy brows, Jones spills the details on her traumatic over-plucking story (too relatable). Next, she disperses two different shades of the Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Serum Foundation onto the back of her hand. “I m going to take the darker on on my forehead and [lower part of the face], and then I m going to bring the lighter moments [on my cheeks, and I just get to blending.” This technique gives her complexion products dimension and depth—no one note, single shade flat-faced beauty look here.

After a little contour and conceal action, she reveals her anti-crease secret, which involves two different types of powder and “keep looking up, don t you dare look down!”

As Jones talks us through her Grammy night plans (which do include an outfit change) she adds a pop of soft pink blush, shadows from a Danessa Myricks Beauty palette, liner, and mascara. “I am very proud of my eyelashes,” she says as she wiggles the wand. “I have been tempted to get lash extensions but I don t think it s my truth.” Her unorthodox mascara technique includes a “wink-wink-wink” movement and a flick of the wrist she calls “hook, line, and sinker”—the end result being perfectly lacquered and curled lashes, so she s onto something.

After a little liner and gloss, the singer goes in for the final touch, My Way by Armani Beauty. Is the fragrance name a little hint a how she s running her career? Maybe, maybe not. But it s certainly the theme of her beauty routine.
