Hollywood icon Demi Moore has had an electrifying start to the year, thanks to her critically acclaimed performance in The Substance. Following her vulnerable and considered performance in the film—which seeks to interrogate modern beauty standards—it was only right that her make-up look for the BAFTAs (where she was nominated for Leading Actress) should reflect her natural, radiant glow.
“We created a sculpted, neutral-toned smoky eye using Charlotte’s new Palette of Beautifying Eye Trends in Super Neutral, paired with Charlotte’s incredible Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara to extend and exaggerate the lashes,” shares Charlotte Tilbury make-up artist Sofia Tilbury. This perfectly complemented Moore’s multi-dimensional custom McQueen gown and dazzling De Beers diamonds.
Honing in on a dewy, healthy glow, Tilbury prioritized taking good care of Moore’s skin. “Before any red-carpet event, I always focus on skin prep by layering Charlotte’s full supercharged skincare routine, finishing with the iconic Magic Cream to cocoon Demi’s skin in hydration, as well as her UV Flawless Poreless Primer SPF 50, which is perfect even for an evening event because it gives zero flashback in pictures!”
Moore is a fan of a fresh, barely-there finish, so Tilbury opted for the “Hollywood Flawless Filter foundation for a smooth, blurred, glowing base, and then two shades of Beautiful Skin Concealer. I used Demi’s shade match to conceal any areas that needed more coverage, and one shade lighter to create a lift effect by gliding it upwards over the inner and outer corners of the eyes, along the smile lines and outer corners of the lips, as well as along the jawline and down the center of the face—it’s a trick that I love to use on all my clients for the most radiant, natural complexion,” Sofia adds.
To complete the look, Tilbury applied Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand to the apples of Moore’s cheeks for a pop of rosy color. “For lips, we paired my favorite Pillow Talk Medium Lip Cheat Liner with Pillow Talk Original Lipstick for a beautifully contoured, fuller-looking pout—I never let anyone leave for the red carpet without giving them Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder—it’s so finely milled and it’s infused with skincare so it smooths and blurs the skin but also glides on as light as air.”
To set the make-up in place, Tilbury spritzed on some Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, to keep Moore looking—and feeling—glowy all night long.
