Our fall fashion trend report showcased a plethora of keynotes for the season—but as the weather changes, we’re looking ahead to what’s next, from new moments seen on the runway to street style looks we want to recreate.

Unsurprisingly, some perennial cold-weather classics have resurfaced with delight. The color palette skews warm and refined: chocolate brown, crisp winter white, and a flash of crimson red. Texture takes center stage as well—corduroy, velvet, shearling, and fuzzy mohair prove essential, adding depth and dimension to even the most minimalist of outfits. And then there were the staying quirks that made our editors swoon. Scarves, in particular, had an undeniable runway revival during both fall 2025 and spring 2026: face-framing at Gucci, swathed across shoulders and waists at Kallmeyer. Prints clashed, fringe swayed, and suddenly the humble scarf became the hero of an outfit.

This winter, personality is the moment—let your choices show a bit of you. Play with proportions, pile on textures, experiment with color. From hero knits to all things velvet, discover the seasonal favorites topping Vogue editors’ winter wish lists, and the pieces they are shopping right now.

All Things Brown

“It’s chestnut season, so why not dress like one too?! In all seriousness, this is a hue that only feels right for fall or winter. I love how rich a tonal look can feel—it’s immediate elegance. And, it’s easy to throw something together when all the colors are the same (believe it or not, we’re always thinking of easy dressing at Vogue).” —Libby Page, executive shopping director

The Scarf Styling

“This winter, the scarf is my ultimate multitasker–tied over pants for a layered look, draped across a tailored jacket for a hint of color, or built into a scarf coat.
