A pixie cut has many phases. Emma Stone has just unlocked the chicest one.
Attending a screening of her new film, Bugonia, the actress wore an intricate up-do with floaty face-framing pieces. Stone’s longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak, scraped Stone’s flicky, grown-out bixie cut into a loose beehive shape—perhaps a nod to Yorgos Lanthimos’s plot, which revolves around a beekeeping conspiracy theorist?
Roszak pulled some wispy curls loose from the pinned French braid, setting the style lower on the star’s crown. Ideal for anyone with a bob, the style allows the hair to be shaped into a romantic coiffure with shorter layers becoming part of an ornamental bun.
Make-up artist Nina Park complemented the hair look with a delicate helping of blusher over the star’s cheeks and down the bridge of her nose. Brows were groomed and her lips were a blurred-out rose pink, a signature Park style.
Stone has been joined in team bob and pixie cut most recently by Zoë Kravitz, who debuted a vintage-esque ’do at the Academy Museum Gala. Paired with micro-bangs (a somewhat signature look of Kravitz’s), the typically sweet flipped bob was given some edge with razoring and kicked ends. Though very different from Stone’s, it’s another example of making the shorter silhouette totally work for your style and aesthetic. If you haven’t joined Emma Stone, Zoë Kravitz, et all in the bob community yet—what are you waiting for?
