Nothing defines the face quite like your eyebrows. An arched brow can elongate your face shape. A feathered brow can open the eye area. So what if you’re looking to get that lifted look without going under the knife or turning to injectables? That’s where you might want to try the eyebrow shape that every It girl is currently wearing: the flat brow.

Ariana Grande, Phoebe Dynevor, and Manon Bannerman from Katseye all have it. For Odessa A’zion, who famously does her own makeup and hair, the flat brow is her signature look. Below, experts break down everything you need to know about 2026’s biggest brow trend.

What is the flat brow?

The flat brow, or straight brow, is shaped in a straight line rather than the traditional arch. Though its roots (get it?) are based in K-beauty practices aimed at softening the face, it is currently used to give you more of a lift. “Right now, beauty trends are focused on a ‘snatched,’ lifted look, influenced by popular Korean anti-aging treatments like Botox and laser lifting,” says celebrity makeup artist Andrew Park. “Flat brows are an easy, non-invasive way to achieve a more lifted impression.”

Kristie Streicher, celebrity brow artist and founder of KS&CO, likens the flat brow’s effect on the face to that of cat-eye liner. “Straight brows feel international and cool,” Streicher says. Celebrity brow artist and Chanel ambassador Jimena Garcia adds that a straight brow gives you more of “a sensual, emotive quality.” Compared to the arched brow, adding, “a serene gaze that draws you in.”

Anyone can wear a flat brow, though some face shapes might benefit more than others. Garcia says that a straight brow may shorten the visual lines on a long face, so think about how it balances the natural architecture of your face shape. “Anyone can wear a straight brow if it’s crafted with intention,” she says.

Streicher adds that you can experiment with a straighter brow without erasing your natural arch, too. “It’s about softening the curve rather than forcing a shape,” she says. “When done thoughtfully, a straighter brow can feel sexy and modern while still looking like you.”

How to Get a Flat Brow

If you’re looking to try the trend yourself, Streicher recommends not removing any hair to get the shape. Instead, use either a face razor or dermaplaning device to trim a few strategic hairs (“Cutting the hair won’t affect its ability to regrow (but plucking might), which keeps your options open,” she says). Trim a few hairs at the top of the arch, under the front of the brow, so it doesn’t curve downward, and use something like the KS&CO Microfeathering Brow Pen to extend the brow outward rather than upward to keep the shape lifted.

Park says you can also use an eyebrow pencil to sketch a guideline of how you want to shape your brows. Mark the area from the arch to the tail that needs to be straightened out, and don’t be too stressed about matching it perfectly with your natural eye shape. “You actually need to draw them slightly higher than you think,” he says. “When you try to match the eye shape too closely, you naturally end up pulling the brows downward.”

For Bannerman’s Grammys look, Park used the Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil and the Kosas Brow Pop Nano Ultra-Fine Detailing + Feathering Eyebrow Pencil. Garcia adds that you’ll want to use a brow gel like the Chanel La Palette Sourcils Brow Wax and Brow Powder Duo to define and lock in hair placement to give you that architectural and balanced structure.

As for the future of the flat brow, experts say that it’s here to stay. 2026 is shaping up to be the era everyone starts to straighten those arch lines—and we’re here for it. “People are craving a look again—something intentional and a little sexy—and the straight brow delivers that,” says Streicher. “There’s a clear ’90s vixen influence, and this shape gives that same confident, lifted energy.”
