“I think I’ve had quite a hard time at different phases in my life,” Georgia Pratt says, looking back at her long history with denim. “When I was in middle school, everyone was wearing a flared or boot-cut jean, and I never really liked how they looked on me, so I just stopped wearing jeans until the end of high school. I went through a phase in university, of wearing men’s jeans that were super big and baggy. And I still think I’m in that phase.”
Still, the New Zealander model has newly discovered the beauty of rigid non-stretch jeans (particularly those cut from Cone Denim, the iconic American-made selvedge) that, when found in the right cut and tailored, flatter a wider-than-expected range of body types. “I have a really good pair of light wash Levi’s men’s jeans that are straight cut from the hip down,” she says. Paired with a pretty printed peasant blouse, it becomes a clean and classic (and universally flattering!) summer look.
