Case in point: Last night in New York City, the model stepped out for dinner wearing a pair of groovy bellbottoms that channel the 1970s.
Hadid, who has been hitting the town with boyfriend Bradley Cooper a lot lately, perfectly nailed the styling of her flared jeans. Choosing a dressy dark wash, she wore her denim—which was fitted to the knee, then flared out to the ankles—with a timeless black sweater (likely from her line, Guest In Residence), layered gold necklaces, and a pointy black boot. With her sleek rectangular shades and micro Miu Miu bag, the whole look felt like a modern approach to retro style—not too cheesy or costumey.
And sure, maybe you prefer to vehemently stay team skinny jeans or team baggy jeans. But as Hadid shows, a great pair of flares acts as the perfect meeting point between the two polarizing silhouettes. Plus, they’re a statement piece on their own, so you don’t have to add much else; a great sweater and a pair of boots completes the look without much effort. Who doesn’t love an easy—yet impactful—styling moment?
