Hang it in the Louvre! This statement could be uttered for any of Gigi Hadid’s recent bob looks. From the flippy bob to the more razored style, icy blondes, bangs, and slickbacks: Gigi Hadid has spent her year with chin-skimming hair on top.

The model joined in one of Paris Fashion Week’s major events, the inaugural Le Grand Dîner du Louvre. Alongside the likes of Keira Knightley, Victoria Beckham, Carla Bruni, and Doechii, Hadid et al put on their most gilded and glittering looks to celebrate the museum’s Louvre Couture exhibition.

And to complement her Moschino a la Midas, mixed metal masterpiece gown by Jeremy Scott? A true platinum hair look to match. Celebrity hairstylist, Vogue app contributor, and certified glam god of awards season Dimitris Giannetos exclusively shares with Vogue how Hadid swapped her trademark blonde tresses for a museum-worthy silver turn for one night only.

Giannetos—who styled Demi Moore’s awards season campaign hairdos, from a surprise and chic chignon to long and flowing locks—shares that Hadid sent him a picture of the material of the dress, so he could match the exact color to her hair. “I gave her some roots for dimension, and made the color look more edgy,” he says. It’s a color he’s coined as “silver tequila.” Fun, sharp, and ready to party.

“For the cut, I wanted to combine classic Marilyn Monroe with a very modern and rebellious touch— with some Linda Evangelista in the ’90s,” he adds.

The process began with wet hair, using a volumizing mousse for extra hold. Hadid’s hair was blow dried with a round brush and sections of hair were pinned in small curls. After the hair had cooled down, clips were taken out and brushed through with a paddle brush. Lots of hairspray was put to the roots, and the rest shaped and moulded with fingers by Giannetos.

Whether she returns to her golden tones or keeps up the chromatic, Gigi Hadid remains the golden girl of bobs.
