The third annual Fashion Trust U.S. Awards took place last night in Los Angeles celebrating emerging designers, with this year’s affair also bringing together a host of celebrities that avail of such design talent: Hailey Bieber, Normani, Keke Palmer, and Julia Fox included.

This year, too, saw Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello receive the inaugural Honorary Award for his impact on the fashion industry. The honor was presented to him by Saint Laurent ambassador and friend Hailey Bieber. The Rhode founder, of course, had to wrap herself up in Saint Laurent.

Bieber opted for a distinctly vegetal shade of purple, wearing the aubergine colored halter dress that featured wraparound, ruched fabric, cut outs, and a sheer skirt. Her nails matched the color of her dress, with the rest of her makeup kept understated with just a hint of a lip tint. (In the shade ‘ribbon’?).

“There is a purpose in every stitch,” Bieber said on stage. “Anthony Vaccarello, your journey is a testament to the transformative power of fashion, and we are so proud to celebrate you.”

Bieber often looks to Saint Laurent for her red carpet appearances, Rhode events, and daytime fits—little LBDs, oversized and sleek leather bombers, the custom bombshell dress for this year’s Vanity Fair Oscars party. Even when out in Aspen, Bieber managed to dig out a rare leopard coat to see her through the apre-ski. In Paris for fashion week, she showed up to sit front row—supporting her friend Bella Hadid’s rare runway appearance—in a Saint Laurent mini-dress.

Both Hailey Bieber and Anthony Vaccarello are stylistically kindred spirits, with a restrained but striking and assured sense of glamor. The pair posed and sat together, talking intensely and enjoying the evening.

Elsewhere, Bieber posed with other similarly sleekly dressed guests, including Normani, who wore vintage Geoffrey Beene, as well as Lori Harvey and Ciara. Other guests leaned into the evening’s celebration of individual style and spirit, like Julia Fox in rose-emblazoned Marni Spring 2025, glamming up in vaudevillian makeup and topping it off with a gargantuan black hat. Others opted to wear the works of emerging designers: model Aweng Chuol wore a smoky brown, draped mini dress by Oude Wang, and Kehlani wore Grace Ling.

Will Hailey Bieber ring in ‘aubergine spring’ for our wardrobes? Let’s see what high fashion’s next harvest brings.
