Swoon! Hunter Schafer Just Walked the Vogue World 2025 Runway in Tilda Swinton’s Costume From Orlando

It’s not a Vogue function without a hit of young-Hollywood star power, and on Sunday night, none other than Hunter Schafer was on hand at Vogue World: Hollywood to help bring the event’s celebration of fashion and film to life.

The Euphoria star stepped out on the Vogue World runway in an original costume from Sally Potter’s 1992 film Orlando, a loose adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s novel of the same name, starring a sylphlike young Tilda Swinton. Oscar and BAFTA award-winning costume designer Sandy Powell has described the drama, which leaps in time from the Elizabethan era to the 1990s—and sees Swinton’s androgynous Orlando transform from a nobleman to a lady—as “a period film, but it had an edge to it because it was slightly stylized; it wasn’t a thousand percent historically accurate.”

Sunday’s show also featured a spirited interpretation of Powell’s work for Orlando by Valentino. Model Alex Consani wore that haute couture look, made up of an ivory silk faille circle cloak with an oversize ruff collar, a black gazar top, a cream peasant blouse, and bloomers, with a black felt and gold lamé headpiece and bright teal silk moiré sandals covered in pearls and studs.

If you’re wondering how to dress for a big night out in the City of Angels when a costume from a major motion picture isn’t an option, feel free to take a cue from Schafer, who doesn’t believe in overdoing it in her everyday life. “I don’t really go out in LA, but when I have I usually keep it pretty dressed down,” she told WhoWhatWear in 2019. “I’ve gone clubbing in an oversized T-shirt and my Dr. Martens and little tiny shorts and that’s felt good for the night.”
