The Medicube Age-R Booster Pro has amassed an ever-growing list of celebrity fans—including Hailey Bieber and nearly every member of the Kar-Jenner clan. Bieber, known for her signature glazed-donut skin, doesn’t credit her glow solely to her peptide-packed Rhode lineup; she’s also loyal to this high-tech K-beauty gadget.

Vogue’s senior beauty shopping writer Kiana Murden was an early adopter of the Korean skin-care brand’s first-gen model. “Is that the Medicube Age-R Booster-H?” she gasped while watching Bieber’s skin prep TikTok GRWM in 2023. Murden got the lowdown on the tool from chatting with dermatologist Dendy Engelman, who co-signed it, too. “I use it nightly for five minutes all over my face—super easy, painless, and efficient.”

The gadget has had its own glow-up in the past two years. “The main difference lies in evolution and performance.” Medicube’s Lyla Chang tells Vogue. “The Age-R Booster H was the first-generation device, offering a single specialized booster mode designed to increase skin-care absorption by up to 490%—a streamlined option for anyone. The Age-R Booster Pro, on the other hand, takes things to the next level,” adding that the latest version is a four-in-one tool that blends the benefits of microcurrent devices and EMS (among others) into one compact device. Below, everything you need to know about the latest buzzy device—and if it really lives up to the hype.

Clinical trials don’t lie either: Medicube reports it boosts ingredient absorption by a sky-rocketing 785%. Oh, and it’s gentle enough to use every single day—so yes, your nightly routine just got a luxe spa-level upgrade.

About the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro

The Medicube Booster Pro is a 2.0 version of the Age-R Booster H. This “radiance device” aims to give your skin an at-home glow boost without needles or downtime. But how does it work? “Its upgraded booster mode builds directly on the original device, now delivering up to 785% enhanced absorption, along with stronger overall performance across all functions,” says Chang. “Instead of needing separate beauty devices to target separate skin concerns, the Pro features four advanced combines them all into one powerful, professional-grade tool.”

According to Medicube, this device doesn’t just make your products work harder—it makes your skin look better, too. “While many beauty tools rely on surface-level vibration or heat, the Booster Pro uses electroporation technology, which is gentle, low-frequency electrical currents that temporarily create micro-channels in the skin. This allows active ingredients to penetrate much deeper than they normally could,” says Chang. No, this isn’t wishful thinking, it’s a science-backed process. “The device increases product absorption by temporarily increasing the skin’s permeability, for better hydration, improved texture, and more noticeable results compared to applying products by hand,” explains board-certified dermatologist Dr. Dara Spearman, adding this pick can also boost circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage.

Even better? Its effects don’t vanish overnight. The brand claims increased ingredient absorption continues for up to 24 hours post-use, with long-term benefits—think firmer, brighter, healthier-looking skin—building with consistent use.

How to Use the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro

This device is designed to be used in the middle of your skin-care regimen, as Bieber depicted in her TikTok. “After cleansing the face, you can apply your favorite skin care product all over the surface of the skin, select your method of choice, and use the device until your [product] is completely absorbed,” says Dr. Engelman. Its worth noting that the air shot mode, is the only option meant to be applied on clean, dry skin—otherwise, layer on your favorite formulas.

The method Dr. Engelman refers to is essentially how you will massage the product into the skin—just choose your technique based on your skin-care goals. The boosting method (massaging the device in a downward sliding motion) can be used with a lightweight, hydrating serum to improve skin radiance and elasticity. The watering method (drawing the device in a circular motion) can be paired with, say, a hyaluronic-acid serum to boost skin’s hydration levels. The focus method (pressing the device to specific areas of the face) is a targeted approach, working with high-concentration actives like AHAs and BHAs to address enlarged pores or pigmentation concerns. Particularly if you have sensitive skin, Medicube recommends doing a patch test on your potent topical treatments first before pairing them with the Booster-H.

Once you determine your massage technique, all that’s left is to pick your intensity level—one being the lowest and five being the highest. Starting is as simple as pressing the on-off button. The device is set with a five-minute usage time and can be used one to three times per day.

Who Should Use the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro?

Anyone and everyone can get a glow boost from the Age-R Booster Pro. “I recommend this device to anyone who wants to amp up the effects of their skin-care formulations and target specific skin care concerns,” says Dr. Engelman. “By using this device just five minutes a day, depending on your skin type and the product you are pairing with the device, you can see results in as little as two weeks.” While this tool is indeed safe is safe for all skin types, the brand advises avoiding usage entirely on the Adam’s apple and areas that have undergone surgical procedures.

My Experience With the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro

“Do I really need another step in my skin-care routine?” I asked myself—despite knowing Murden swears by this device as a daily essential. Still, I gave it a go. Post-cleanse, I started with air shot mode, targeting my usual trouble zones (read: nose and chin, the breakout-prone duo). The sensation was surprisingly subtle—more of a light tingle and gentle twitch of the facial muscles rather than the sharp zap you might expect from traditional microcurrent tools.

For my proper test drive of the Age-R Booster Pro, I went straight for the classic booster mode—a.k.a the feature that catapulted this device to viral fame. As they once said on MTV Cribs (hello, 2000s nostalgia), this is where the magic happens. On clean skin, I misted on an overly generous layer of Rhode’s Glazing Mist, followed by a dollop of my favorite Purito gel cream. As someone who bores easily, I appreciated the genius built-in timer to keep me motivated: the device chimes every 60 seconds and powers off automatically after the recommended five-minute session. It meant I could fully dissociate into my latest binge-worthy series without once thinking, “Wait, how long have I been doing this?”

I started at the lowest intensity setting, then worked my way up slowly as I got more comfortable—level three became my sweet spot for most modes, in case you’re wondering.

The next morning? The glow was undeniable. Not that greasy, just-rolled-out-of-bed T-zone shine—but an actual glazed, lit-from-within radiance. Impossibly hydrated, with baby-smooth skin texture. Honestly, it might just be the only tool you actually need to get that glass-skin glow.

Is the Medicube Age-R Booster Pro Worth It?

Sometimes, viral beauty tools seem like all smoke, mirrors, and savvy social media marketing—but not this one. The Medicube Age-R Booster Pro genuinely makes your skin care work overtime. After each session, my complexion looked noticeably smoother, deeply hydrated, and carried that elusive lit-from-within glow—like I’d just stepped out of a luxurious facial. While I’m not one to use any one gadget daily in perpetuity, this one checks two major boxes: instant gratification and long-term payoff. It’s also blissfully low-effort—just five minutes, and no guesswork about how much time has passed while using it. I’ll need more time to see the full spectrum of results, but there’s comfort in knowing it’s only supercharging the ingredients I already trust, without complicating my routine.
