It’s the first Monday in May, and that means the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute gala is tonight. Hosted by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, and Anna Wintour the gala is expected to draw crowds of fashion and art lovers to the Met in their campiest ensembles. Guests will be expected to dress in their best interpretations of camp to properly celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” curated by Andrew Bolton. The exhibition itself opens to the public on Thursday, May 9, making tonight’s gala something of a sneak peek at the fantastical papal and contemporary designer garments on view. With the red carpet over, follow along for the rest of the night on Vogue’s social channels.
9:37 p.m.: Joan Collins wore an angelic, extra-voluminous tulle gown by Valentino, accessorized with a tiara and lots of sparkling jewelry.
9:36 p.m.: Dakota Johnson wore her heart on her dress—literally—in this royal purple Gucci dress with an embellished red heart at her sternum.
9:36 p.m.: British model Adwoa Aboah walked the pink carpet in a leopard-printed gown and a delicate crystal headpiece.
9:35 p.m.: Lena Waithe and Kerby Jean-Raymond coordinated their pinstripe suits on the pink carpet.
9:34 p.m.: Indya Moore paired her light-catching gold Louis Vuitton minidress with an extra-long braid that had a gold ring attached so she could carry it on her walk up the Met’s stairs.

9:28 p.m.: Trevor Noah boldly wore a statement T-shirt on the Met Gala red carpet, proving that even a white tee can be camp.
9:26 p.m.: Tennis star Maria Sharapova chose a Givenchy Couture dress with a structured skirt.
9:25 p.m.: Penelope Cruz is wearing a vintage black and white Chanel gown with a camellia bow from the house’s Spring 1987 Couture collection.

9:23 p.m.: Tessa Thompson is wearing a Chanel look from the Fall 2016 couture show accessorized with a leather whip. Hey, it’s camp!
9:22 p.m.: Salma Hayek wore a glittering gold Gucci dress with black tulle sleeves and a gold leaf crown to walk the carpet with her husband, Francois Henri-Pinault.
9:21 p.m.: Let’s just hope Zendaya doesn’t lose a glass slipper on the pink carpet tonight. The actress and musician did her best Cinderella impression on the Met’s steps in a look worthy of a fairytale.
9:20 p.m.: Solange Knowles wore a python bodysuit—sans pants!—and matching thigh-high boots by Salvatore Ferragamo.
9:19 p.m.: Actor Ezra Miller painted trompe l’oeil eyes on his face and carried a mask up the Met steps tonight. To top it off, he chose a Burberry suit and pearl corset.
9:15 p.m.: Rita Ora and Kate Moss had a goddess moment in liquid sequin gowns by Marc Jacobs.
9:14 p.m.: Kendall and Kylie Jenner walked the carpet together in coordinating feathered looks. Kylie opted for a lavender Versace number, while Kendall’s look came in nearly-neon orange.
9:12 p.m.: Newlyweds Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner coordinated their Louis Vuitton looks on the red carpet tonight.
9:11 p.m.: Lizzo arrived in a white gown and highlighter-pink feathered cape by Marc Jacobs with neon hair to match.
9:10 p.m.: Ella Balinska, who’s starring in the upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot, wore a voluminous chrome gown exploding with pleated ruffles by Tory Burch.

9:02 p.m.: Cara Delevingne never shies away from a red carpet statement. Tonight, she wore a sheer rainbow-striped outfit and a major headpiece made of sparkling fruit, candy, and, curiously, teeth.
9:01 p.m.: Jennifer Connelly arrived in a geometric sequined minidress by Louis Vuitton, accessorized with studded pumps and a large feather earring.
9:00 p.m.: Winnie Harlow opted for a barely-there crystal-encrusted gown, black feather boa, and a glowing headpiece.
8:58 p.m.: Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière arrived with Emma Stone on his arm. She’s wearing an ‘80s-ish metallic silver jumpsuit of his design.
8:57 p.m.: Cardi B made a major entrance in a blood-red Thom Browne dress with a massive padded train, yards of feathers, and trompe l’oeil sequins outlining her breasts and torso.
8:56 p.m.: In black latex and a floral dress, Lily Aldridge upends her classic style for something sultry and slightly gothic.
8:55 p.m.: Actress Pom Klementieff wrapped herself in tulle from Salvatore Ferragamo for a bit of illusionary camp.

8:31 p.m.: Gwen Stefani represented her friend, designer Jeremy Scott, in a Moschino bodysuit and faux fur coat.
8:30 p.m.: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who first met at the Met Gala, arrived in coordinating white and silvery looks this year. Chopra’s gown is custom Dior couture comprised of tulle feathers, silver strass, a horsehair bustier, and a palladium crown; the full look reportedly took 1,500 hours to complete.
8:22 p.m.: Someone had to wear one of the meme-worthy gowns from Viktor Rolf’s last couture show. Hailee Steinfeld opted for the first look, a purple and green tulle gown with “NO PHOTOS PLEASE” printed on the front.

6:10 p.m.: Pastel hair is emerging as a major trend tonight. Regina Hall paired her pale pink dye job with a sparkling brocade off-the-shoulder gown.
6:07 p.m.: Model Ashley Graham is sporting a custom Gucci blazer designed in collaboration with Dapper Dan.
5:59 p.m.: The night’s final host has arrived! Harry Styles is wearing a sheer black pussy-bow blouse, black trousers, and a single pearl earring, all by Gucci. He is with Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, who chose a pink ruffled suit and jeweled headband.
5:58 p.m.: Laverne Cox is here, dressed in a black ruffled Christian Siriano gown “inspired by fantasy” that she has complemented with pale turquoise hair.
5:53 p.m.: Billy Porter has arrived in a gold bodysuit, beaded cape, and a chain headpiece, along with a posse of shirtless men in gold trousers. He was carried up the Met’s stairs on a traditional litter, the open bed pharaohs were transported on in Ancient Egypt. Can you say “camp?”
5:47 p.m.: Serena Williams, who is also hosting tonight’s event with Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, and Anna Wintour, just arrived and is walking the carpet in a custom neon yellow gown by Versace.
5:41 p.m.: Did you think she was stopping there? Gaga’s pink dress came off to reveal sparkling black lingerie, fishnet tights, and her signature platform boots. Surely this is her last look—but when it comes to Gaga, you can never know for sure.
5:36 p.m.: But wait… there’s more! Lady Gaga has removed her black dress to expose a slim hot pink column, swapping her umbrella for a massive old-school cell phone and black sunglasses.
5:24 p.m.: Once she made it to the top of the staircase, Lady Gaga removed the gown to reveal a black strapless dress and posed for the cameras with a curious accessory: an umbrella.
5:23 p.m.: Lady Gaga is here! She’s wearing a voluminous hot pink gown by her friend and former stylist Brandon Maxwell with a train so long, a few handlers had to help carry it up the museum’s stairs. See the look here.
