Thank goodness for streaming. As the coronavirus pandemic keeps people at home, the ability to binge-watch TV and movies has never been more useful. Luckily, Netflix is out with a whole new crop of offerings this month; below, take a look at some of the films and shows we’re most looking forward to, as well as a full list of everything hitting the site in May.
Hollywood (May 1)
This brand-new miniseries from Ryan Murphy takes place in a post-WWII Hollywood and features an all-star cast including Patti LuPone, Mira Sorvino, Samara Weaving, Holland Taylor, and Maude Apatow.
Dead to Me: Season 2 (May 8)
The last season of this Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini–led series left off with a major cliffhanger, and season 2 picks up with the duo harboring an extremely dark secret (and, unsurprisingly, beginning to crack under the pressure).
Trial by Media: Season 1 (May 11)
True-crime buffs will flip for this new Netflix docuseries, which examines some of the most dramatic trials of all time—from the political downfall of Rod Blagojevich to the murder of Amadou Diallo—through the lens of how the media affected their outcomes.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy Vs. the Reverend (May 12)
In the style of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is going interactive. The newest installment of the series lets the viewer decide what will happen to Kimmy: Will she successfully fight off the evil Reverend to make it to her wedding on time?
Hannah Gadsby: Douglas (May 26)
After the worldwide success of her stand-up special Nanette, comedian Hannah Gadsby is back with a follow-up that s no less provocative (and in case you were wondering, "Douglas" is the name of one of Gadsby s dogs).
