Welcome to the Juniverse. This week, Chioma sat down with June Ambrose, the iconic costume designer and creative director of Puma. I learned so much from listening to this interview: June has been behind the scenes for so many of the most legendary moments in hip-hop history, from music videos to movies, so it was only fitting to have her in on the eve of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. She tells Chioma about growing up in the Bronx and working with everyone from Jay-Z to Diddy; shares the details behind Missy Elliott’s famous inflatable suit; and spills on the accessory she always has on hand to complete her outfit.

Also this week: the first video in our new TikTok closet series, Run-Through the Closet, with Vogue. Chioma joins Naomi Elizée in her closet in Brooklyn and explores her vast collection of Tabi shoes, her favorite new Christopher John Rogers dress, and what she would rescue in a fire (hint, it’s for a future wedding).
