The PhotoVogue Festival, the first conscious fashion photography festival that focuses on the common ground between ethics and aesthetics, returns for its eighth edition. From March 6th to 9th, 2025, BASE Milano will host a series of exhibitions and talks analysing the interrelation between humans and Nature, and the relations of kinship we can create with animals, complemented by satellite events at the city s finest galleries.

Synopsis

A careful look at resource extraction and ecology wars through military and industrial ways of seeing in Richard Mosse s photographic practice — in this lecture, Mosse understands light as a form of heat and uses both to unpack complex geopolitical movements that cause and effect dramatic changes in weather patterns and global heating, from rare earth mining and illegal charcoal production in eastern DR Congo to the waves of migration across the Middle East and North Africa, to man s wilful ecocide in the Amazon rainforest, and the places between. Mosse will also explain how he sees his hard earned documentary imagery as a form of parafiction .
