The PhotoVogue Festival, the first conscious fashion photography festival that focuses on the common ground between ethics and aesthetics, returns for its eighth edition. From March 6th to 9th, 2025, BASE Milano will host a series of exhibitions and talks analysing the interrelation between humans and Nature, and the relations of kinship we can create with animals, complemented by satellite events at the city s finest galleries.
Synopsis
Moderated by Alessia Glaviano, Head of Global PhotoVogue and Director of the PhotoVogue Festival, this panel explores how fashion can serve as a powerful medium for raising awareness and inspiring social change. Glaviano, a pivotal figure in the international photography community, has consistently championed the use of visual storytelling to address pressing global issues.
Featuring artists from The Tree of Life: A Love Letter to Nature, the panel includes Delali Ayivi, Silvana Trevale, Bettina Pittaluga, Ana Margarita Flores, Eliya Kizozo, and Tara L. C. Sood. In the segment The Story Behind the Image, each artist will present their work, weaving personal narratives with insights into their creative processes as their images are projected on a large screen.
The ensuing discussion will delve into how these artists use fashion photography as a tool to challenge norms, spotlight underrepresented communities, and spark dialogue on issues ranging from sustainability to inclusivity. Their work transcends aesthetics, demonstrating the potential of creativity to advocate for change and foster a more equitable world. Guided by Glaviano’s expertise, this conversation will highlight the intersection of fashion, activism, and artistry, offering a fresh perspective on the transformative power of visual storytelling.
