Wild Summon is our attempt to become fish
As a story, The life cycle of the Salmon has so many metaphors for humanity, we wanted to create a film that created a deep Connection and blurring of the lines between the natural world / animals and humanity and making them one. Manifested in the resilience of female swimmer/ fish
We made the film as a directing duo with a family , a journey of two years, during which w
wrote, directed, shot, animated and made the music. This was an epic adventure and journey in resilience of our own. Within the film we wanted to create a message of empathy care and connection, for nature and each other. To try and feel again! within the image overload of our world.
We also tried to challenge the concept of a nature film... using animation to bring in a dif-
ferent kind of storytelling to the natural history genre finally, the voice of narrator Marianne Faithfull... as a human female survivor and warrior herself we couldn’t think of anyone better suited. Wild Summon is our poem about earth nature and humanity made for our children and the
future.
Be fish!
