Futurespective is a major photography initiative launched in 2025 by Vogue Ukraine in partnership with PhotoVogue. Conceived during wartime, the project offers a visual portrait of a generation living through profound rupture while continuing to imagine a future.

Developed through an open call that received hundreds of submissions, Futurespective here brings together 34 Ukrainian artists working across documentary, fine art, and fashion photography. Presented as a slideshow on a screen, the exhibition unfolds as a continuous visual narrative. The images trace the fragile coexistence of daily life and conflict, where intimacy, resilience, memory, and identity emerge under extraordinary conditions. Rather than focusing solely on destruction, the works insist on presence, continuity, and the act of looking forward.

The project was curated by Marta Bertman, Creative Director of Vogue Ukraine, and supported by an international jury composed of experts from PhotoVogue, Vogue Ukraine, and leading cultural institutions. Futurespective was previously presented through exhibitions in Kyiv in the summer of 2025 and later in London at Saatchi Gallery, bringing contemporary Ukrainian photography to an international audience.

Building on earlier PhotoVogue initiatives in support of Ukraine, Futurespective documents the present while shaping a collective visual memory for the future. It stands as both testimony and projection, affirming photography as a space of agency, care, and imagination in times of uncertainty.
