What better way to celebrate turning 23 than an appearance at the Met Gala 2024? Rachel Zegler did just that and wowed on the red carpet when she channeled her inner Disney princess and wore the dreamiest icy blue shadow to match her Michael Kors sequined gown.
Created by celebrity makeup artist Allan Avendaño for Dior, her makeup look was inspired by “the idea of emerging out of water," which calls for a fresh mix of ocean blues and dewy skin. To get that shimmery mix of aquatic shades, Avendaño used the Diorshow Mono Couleur in #240 Denim, #006 Pearl Star, #045 Celestial Grey, and #098 Pied-De-Poule to give her lids an ombré smokey effect. He then defined her eyes with the Diorshow Stylo in Matte Black and Blue and finished with the Iconic Overcurl to give her lashes some added drama.
For that dewy water-like glisten on her skin, he used the Dior Forever Glow Foundation and topped with the Dior Forever Natural Bronze in #05 Warm Bronze. And what s a rebirth like without some natural-looking flush on her cheeks with the use of the Dior Rosy Glow Blush in #006 Berry.
Her hair was kept simple and regal, slicked back with a deep side part and cascading down past her shoulders, letting her makeup be the focal point of her beauty look. Celebrity hairstylist Clayton Hawkins went for “Pre-Raphaelite waves” with tiny crystal drops placed throughout. Hawkins used the Dove Scalp + Hair Therapy Root Lift Thickening Spray on her roots for added volume before giving her long strands a bouncy blowout. Then he locked the style into place with the Dove Micro-Mist Flexible Hold Hairspray and used a toothbrush to smooth her edges back before finally securing them with matte black Bobby pins.
Zegler will soon be everyone’s princess in the latest adaptation of Disney’s Snow White, which is slated to debut in 2025—and we can’t wait to see what looks are in store for that. For now, this is a fairy tale way to celebrate a 23rd birthday, indeed.
