Believe it or not, the holiday season is quickly approaching (wasn’t it August just yesterday?) and with its arrival, the annual onslaught of holiday parties, dinners, and cocktails will inevitably accompany.
While you’re busy fielding invites and sending RSVPs, we’ll be thinking about what you should wear. It should come as no surprise that we’re referencing the runways for inspiration. The looks we saw peppered throughout the spring 2025 collections are refreshingly new. For the season, houses like Prada, Burberry, Valentino, and Bottega Veneta turned holiday classics like sequins, sheen, and red on their heads. By pairing festive go-tos with unexpected extras like sporty parkas, chunky flats, and fringe, they put a high-fashion twist on the typical party get-up. We can’t wait to copy them! For seven ways to wear our favorite runway-inspired holiday looks, check out our edit below.

Rain Check? No Need!
At Prada, a maximalist sequin midi is contrasted with a sporty anorak, for a party look that feels refreshingly modern. We love the unexpected color combination of yellow and silver.
Tinsel, Feather, and Foil
Classic holiday hues—red and gold—get an upgrade at Bottega Veneta in fresh, new shapes. Chunky black accessories, like a thick belt and high-vamp heels, take this look into high-fashion territory.
Tiny Hem, Major Shimmer
At Loewe, a typical sequin mini dress climbs the cool rank when paired with masculine brogues. We like the idea of keeping this look sleek and aerodynamic. You can do so by pushing your hair back in a headband and adding a small pair of silver huggies.
More Is More
In his first collection for Valentino, Alessandro Michele brought sequins to the forefront. We love his magpie combination of a polka dot skirt, lace tights, and a shiny topper.
The Caped Crusader
Statement shoes add personality to a sleek cape—whether it’s a dramatic midi or a simple mini. Gold accents break up the line with visual contrast.
Revealing Ruffles
A romantic billowing blouse gives way to sparkly sequins. Keep the drama up top by pairing with trousers in a similar shade of white or cream. Black accents ground the look.
Braving the Blizzard
On the spring runways, Burberry also made their case, quite successfully, for the fusion of sequins and a parka coat. Pro-tip: keep the jacket and dress in the same color family for a less intimidating take.
