Shunning her usual simple liner and bold lips look, the actor stepped out in New York last night sporting dramatically smoky eyes, a statement that provided the perfect contrast to her fresh skin and nude lips.
To recreate Johansson’s look, “more is more” is the mantra to adopt. Translated, that means a lesson in layering, so start by lining your lash line with a black kohl liner before applying a powder shadow on top of a dark cream pigment base to give it maximum staying power and intensity. We like Chanel’s Stylo Yeux Waterproof Liner in Noir Intense, while Trinny London’s Eye2Eye Shade in Universe is a great creamy option. If you want to go full-throttle drama then stick to black, or to soften it slightly, graphite grey or even navy also work well.
To create the requisite winged shape, use a small, soft blending brush to pull out the shadow into a point that stops right under the end of your brows. Keeping the rest of her face simple, Johansson’s cheeks were flushed in a pretty pink shade while her lips were slicked with a light layer of glossy nude lipstick.
