Fashion’s never been busier with the Copenhagen fall 2026 ready-to-wear overlapping with spring 2026 couture season—one that saw the couture debuts of Jonathan Anderson at Christian Dior, Matthieu Blazy at Chanel, and Silvana Armani at Armani Privé. The more the industry accelerates, the more impactful fashion illustration feels. Sisters Jacky Marshall and Blue Farrier once again took on the task of drawing the couture for Vogue Runway.
With ink and paper they were able to capture texture, atmosphere, posture, and motion. We can see how Farrier zoomed into a green drop earring at Chanel, and we can feel Marshall’s exhilaration at the fluttering of bows on a Valentino gown. Besides choosing the looks they want to draw, both artists bring their own points of view to their work. Farrier’s graphic drawings are rendered in opaque ink, applied to thick absorbent paper against which the presence of the brush is recorded. Marshall works with a more watery line that captures movement, and she chooses colors like one would candy. With AI encroaching on all aspects of fashion, the eye and the hand have never been more important.
