This holiday season, why save your most festive pieces for just special occasions? We first coined this trend–or dressing mood as we prefer to call it–in Vogue Shopping’s FW24 trend report after key pieces (tinsel-trimmed sweaters, sleek sequin midiskirts, crystal-embellished blue jeans) made their way down the fall/winter runways and onto our radar.

Viewed as a whole, these individual moments caused us to look at our everyday staples in a totally new fashion, we’re here to put the spotlight on one It item in particular–the dazzling sequin skirt—and more importantly, how to style it. Our usual style mantra from November through December naturally leans fun, and let’s be honest, more fabulous. That can be achieved with Róhe’s silver-and-cream paillette skirt, Citizens of Humanity’s shearling-trimmed leather jacket, and a pair of stompy biker boots worn to a chic, martini-heavy cocktail hour or Mango’s metallic midi with Liberowe’s crushed-velvet ladylike jacket, and a pair of pointed-toe, kitten-heel pumps from Massimo Dutti at your nine-to-five. One of our favorite styling tricks this fall and winter? Layering a slouchy leather bomber jacket atop a dainty slip skirt or dress. The chic closet combination was a go-to amongst the fashion crowd this season, spotted on some of Vogue’s very own to top retail-execs on the scene.
