Street Style: Paris Fashion Week Fall 2014

The fashion world may be discussing “normcore”—pared-down, extremely neutral dressing—this week, but on the streets of Paris, style is all about exaggeration. High fashion has embraced parody: All you have to do is look at Moschino’s McDonald’s-themed collection, the sequined Coca-Cola shirts, and a black purse with “PUR$E” written on it in what appears to be White-Out, and you’ll see that showgoers are poised to stand out—and have a laugh while doing it. And there’s nothing more standout this season than coats designed by Miuccia Prada, especially those kitties and colorful tropical birds dotting whimsical Miu Miu coats. Add **Miroslava Duma’**s thigh-high suede boots and a shaggy, rainbow fur to this loud mix, and you’ll be thinking: Who needs normal?
