If there’s one thing about Sydney Sweeney, it’s that she’s not afraid to go against the grain. This year, the Euphoria star swapped her iconic tumbling golden locks for a chin-scraping bob, debuting the look a few weeks after her 28th birthday.
Unlike the curly bob she’s been wearing for the past month or so, this one sat dead straight, curved around her face and tapered into a gentle flick at the ends. The color—a definitive change from her classic rooty color and tousled bedhead style—was recently touched up and brightened by Manhattan s cool-girl colorist Jenna Perry.
Sweeney’s long bob is reminiscent of Victoria Beckham’s original Posh Spice bob from the late ’90s. Just hitting her collarbones and sharply parted in the middle, Beckham’s bob saw her through 1997 and 1998.
Other adoptees of the “pob” include Selena Gomez, Kelly Rowland, Emily Ratajkowski, Zoe Saldana and Vanessa Hudgens. Sweeney has channelled a Spice Girl, a lauded female boxer and Britney Spears this year, alone—what will 2026 hold?
