Taylor Swift is careful about creating a cohesive vision around her creative work, and that includes her approach to beauty. While Reputation was all about dark lips and rock-star waves, Lover is a swirl of pastels and rainbows. Accordingly, the singer has test driven dip dyed magenta lengths and a metallic blue pedicure over the last few months. So it s not surprising that this month s Vogue cover star tried out a new look for last night’s Teen Choice Awards, channeling a modern day ’60s goddess.

For the star-studded Los Angeles event, Swift swept her blonde mane into a slight bouffant updo, adding a spritz of root boosting texture spray and a dash of cobalt liner. (Plus, of course, a set of lilac nails.) She’s not the only one recalling the styles of yesteryear: this summer has seen its fair share of ’60s inspired makeup moments, with Katy Perry s pastel colored lids and Shailene Woodley’s bombshell blowout among them. Considering Swift’s constant beauty evolution—and her album release later this month—more inspiring moments seem inevitable.
