Before the fashion industry goes on summer vacation, there’s one more stop on the global tour—couture week. The three-day extravaganza of opulence and glamour begins tomorrow with Daniel Roseberry at Schiaparelli before it closes with a much-anticipated debut from Glenn Martens at Maison Margiela. It’s an important stage not only for the designers who spend months in their atelier working on their collections, but also for the models who walk the runways.
Ignacio Murillo, Vogue’s Global Casting Director, knows this very well. And he’s especially looking forward to the cast at Schiaparelli. “It’s the most exciting one to me. Every dress feels one-of-a-kind and looks incredible to a viewer like me watching from home,” he said, adding if he turned model-for-a-day and could walk any runway, he’d pick Roseberry’s. Back in real life, who will be the top models of the season and which shows is he expecting them to walk? Below, Murillo shares his top-five model wishlist for the fall 2025 couture season.
Jacqui Hooper
Jacqui Hooper’s first-ever runway show was the Versace fall 2025 ready-to-wear show—I mean talk about a debut! She’ll make her couture debut this season and I think she’ll bring her A-game.
Alex Consani
Miss Alex Consani always brings a great vibe and energy to every show she does.
Sora Choi
Sora Choi took a little bit of a break from modeling, but she came back last ready-to-wear season to close out Prada. Thank god the queen and the icon is back.
Awar Odhiang
Awar is so special and a highlight for me every time I see her walk. She’s a constant standout on the runway. The proof? She’s booked almost every single show.
Libby Taverner
The Australian will be making her couture debut this season. Her face card is insane probably in part because she has the most piercing eyes.
