Tonight, Milan Fashion Week came to a particularly festive close: Italian Vogue celebrated its 50th anniversary in truly grand style at Piazza Castello. Karl Lagerfeld, Riccardo Tisci, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, Maria Grazia Chiuria, and Pierpaolo Piccioli were among the designers who came out to fete the occasion, along with members of the It Brit contingent—Christopher Kane and Tabitha Simmons among them. Also joining the festivities were models Hanne Gaby Odiele, Binx Walton, and Karolina Kurkova who took in the beauty of the architecture and magnificent projections displaying key moments and covers from the magazine’s storied history. And though editor in chief Franca Sozzani was winding up a week of her city’s shows, plus cohosting events like Who Is On Next? and Vogue Talents, she’s never been one to rest on her laurels. Her after-party destination? New York City, where she’ll be stopping by the United Nations on Monday and taking part in a women’s empowerment luncheon. Simply splendida!
