This story contains spoilers for The White Lotus season three.
I’ll admit it: Even for a White Lotus superfan of my stature, it can be difficult to keep track of the ever shifting cast from season to season. Season three of The White Lotus, which takes place in Koh Samui, Thailand, is all about loud luxury, wellness culture, and spiritual appropriation run amok—and that’s before you get to the unresolved threads from past seasons being slowly unraveled (GREG HUNT?). It can be a bit hard to really enjoy any of it, if you’re not actually clear on who the characters are. Luckily, we’ve got you covered. Below, find a roundup of every character you need to know from the third season of The White Lotus.
The Cursed Girls-Trip Trio
Jaclyn Lemon (Michelle Monaghan): Objectively the “alpha” of this nightmarish-seeming friend-trio reunion, Jaclyn is a somewhat famous actress with a much younger husband who seems to expend a lot of energy looking camera-ready.
Kate Bohr (Leslie Bibb): Honestly, all you need to know about this extremely smug, hot mom is that she’s from Austin and very down to talk about it.
Laurie Duffy (Carrie Coon): Laurie appears to be the least traditionally successful of her friends (on their limited terms, anyway). We know she has a somewhat problematic daughter and is obsessed with her job, and we also know that she’s great at sobbing dramatically in a hotel room.
The Ratliffs
Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs): Classic Southern business jerk, very wrapped up with some dodgy dealings that seem to have gone awry and may hit the press soon. Incapable of turning off his phone, even in paradise, and is angry at the (admittedly, repeated) suggestion. No wonder his older son sucks!
Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey): Somewhat Lorazepam-dependent, drawling mom of three who’s mainly focused on laughing along with her older son Saxon’s inappropriate jokes, despairing about her daughter Piper’s interest in world religions, and trying to make her younger son Lochlan go to UNC over Duke.
Saxon Ratliff (Patrick Schwarzenegger): The aforementioned older son who sucks. Sexist, gross, prone to making weirdly incestuous comments, made no attempt to hide his erection during a hotel massage—literally the reason that white men on vacation get a mostly deserved bad rap in Southeast Asia.
Piper Ratliff (Sarah Catherine Hook): Timothy and Victoria’s studious daughter who’s hoping to interview a monk for a college project. Seems deeply embarrassed by Saxon, which automatically makes me stan her at least a little bit.
Lochlan Ratliff (Sam Nivola): Sweet-seeming youngest son of the family whose siblings are both trying to raise him in their respective images, while their parents…pop pills and yell at people on the phone.
The (Un)happy Couples
Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins): Disaffectedly sexy as he may be, this man is not having fun on his vacation with his girlfriend. (Although, after what we learned about his traumatic childhood in episode two, is it really so surprising that he’s carrying around some excess baggage?)
Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood): Rick’s aforementioned girlfriend, a sweet and vaguely hippie-ish type who hails from Manchester and is most definitely trying to get the most out of her vacation (even if it’s without Rick).
Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon): This ex-model is French Canadian, not French, so get it right! She and Chelsea seem to be bonding about their largely cranky, absent older men, which makes them definite contenders to be this season’s Mia and Lucia.
“Gary,” a.k.a. Greg Hunt (Jon Gries): We know this man from White Lotus seasons past (R.I.P. Tanya McQuoid), and he’s bad news, although it’s not clear if his much younger girlfriend Chloe knows it yet. Get a job! Stay away from her!
The White Lotus Staff
Belinda Lindsey (Natasha Rothwell): Our absolute baby girl from season one who’s at the White Lotus Thailand on an exchange program of sorts to learn more about the Koh Samui location’s wellness programs. Sure, she got briefly mentioned in season two, but it’s nice to see Belinda on our screens again!
Sritala Hollinger (Lek Patravadi): The majestic and musically talented wellness-program leader of the White Lotus Thailand, who was once a celebrated Thai actress (and has some as-yet-unexplained backstory beef with Rick).
Thidapon “Mook” Sornsin (Lisa): Mook is a sweet-seeming, good-natured “health mentor” at the White Lotus Thailand, and she’s also seen engaging in some mild flirtation with Gaitok, a colleague who helps her when her motorbike breaks down.
Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong): In addition to being identified by his obvious crush on Mook, Gaitok is the chief victim of a break-in at the White Lotus Thailand that takes place in episode two, when a masked assailant hits him with a gun after robbing the hotel’s boutique. Hopefully, things will turn around for him later in the season!
Valentin (Arnas Fedaravičius): This ludicrously hot Russian trainer is allegedly the most popular wellness expert at the White Lotus Thailand, which…tracks.
Fabian (Christian Friedel): The general manager of the White Lotus Thailand whose anxiety, passion for music, and eagerness to please are perfectly portrayed by the Zone of Interest star Friedel.
Pam (Morgana O’Reilly): New Zealander and hotel employee Pam has the less-than-enviable job of trying to enforce unplugging at the White Lotus Thailand, which, so far, means she gets yelled at by the Ratliffs a lot while trying to get them off their phones.
Amrita (Shalini Peiris): This spiritual counsellor and a meditation teacher allegedly has a “significant” storyline coming up that also involves Rick, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Everyone Else
Zion Lindsey (Nicholas Duvernay): Belinda’s son, who is visiting her in Thailand after finishing his college classes. He got a very dramatic start to the season by jumping in a pond in a flash-forward to escape an active shooter, so it’ll be interesting to see what the rest of his arc is!
Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn): Sritala’s husband, allegedly, a “very famous man in Bangkok” and recent sufferer of a stroke.
