The founders of Frame Denim are versed in the art of patience. Since launching with just one pair of jeans, 2012 s Le Skinny, Jens Grede, Erik Torstensson, Nico Peyrache, and Josh Levine have slowly increased their offerings season by season. A wash here, a new cut there, finally a shirt. No doubt it has been at a rate that frustrates their group of model and other most-likely-to-be-Instagrammed fans, many of whom were on hand to see, celebrate, and try on the brand s Fall collection.
An homage to 70s New York sportswear, it was Frame s most fully realized lineup to date, with suede jeans and culottes, a denim jumpsuit, a bow blouse, and a sexy-thin gray Henley tucked into a black pencil skirt. These were what Grede and Torstensson referred to as "chic essentials." "It should be classic," Grede expanded. "It should be wearable. It should have that element of a trend. We try to walk that balance." And one didn t have to try too hard to imagine how good these clothes will look on New York s well-shod streets. Mingling in the crowd wearing Fall and channeling Ali MacGraw were Karlie Kloss, in a belted camel suede trench, and Hilary Rhoda, in a boyish black blazer, louche white blouse, and flared skinny jeans.
