Amy Smilovic is frank about her latest effort. "It s just fashion," she said at her Resort preview. "It s not going to fix any major global issues." Perhaps, but these clothes should solve a few wardrobe dilemmas for the designer s ever growing customer base (Tibi s opened ten new doors in Asia since January). Drawing inspiration from the "good ol days" of Palm Beach (read: pre-Madoff), Smilovic focused on silky strapless jumpsuits, brightly patterned rompers, sheer beaded caftans, and jersey crepe "sweatpants" with elastic cuffs. The palette was suitably rosy: Shades of coral, salmon, and blush predominated.
