A hot pink coat covered with heart-shaped organza petals, cheerful cherries printed on ruffled cotton voile, grosgrain ribbon bows and diamanté brooches—at first glance, it seemed that Sonia Rykiel s Collection Glam couldn t be any girlier. There were scads of flirty frocks here, like a flouncy black one with polka dots embroidered on sheer tulle above the bust. But look a little closer and you d also find a handful of designs for the Parisienne gamine who wants a boyish counterbalance to those super-feminine styles. A tailored shorts jumpsuit had a deep V-neck, for example, and an amply cut double-breasted suit came in fuchsia-colored wool crepe. The label s separate, regular Resort collection was more carefree and less saccharine by comparison. A red linen set with a boxy, boat-neck tunic and to-the-knee A-line skirt had a put-together nonchalance about it. The pajama-dressing trend that seems to be everywhere these days made an appearance in the form of blush trousers in lightweight silk (with a top to match) that had tuxedo stripes down the sides.
