Met Gala Live Updates: Revisit All the Best Looks on the Red Carpet’s Top Stars
Every year, the spring exhibition at the Costume Institute ushers in the year’s most glamorous event—the Met Gala. This year’s show is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which explores 300 years of Black style in the Atlantic diaspora with the dandy at its center. Co-curated by Andrew Bolton and Monica L. Miller, it’s a densely layered exhibition, one that will reward revisits.
The dress code for the evening’s red carpet was Tailored for You, which left much space for experimentation and personalization, though there were trends aplenty: We saw a lot of all-white suits; many, many hats; and pants-less looks on everyone from Sabrina Carpenter to Doja Cat. We’ll be breaking out the night’s best dresses and big stories in the hours and days to come, but with guests dispersing into the rainy night for the after-parties—we hear there’s a cool dozen to choose from—we’re signing off on our live blog for now. Thank you for joining us! Give the Met Gala livestream a rewatch for anything you might have missed.
