Ali Forney Center Celebrated its Oasis LGBTQ+ Pride Party with Drag Queens, Champagne, and a Surprise Proposal

Last night marked the 14th annual OASIS LGBTQ+ Pride Party party as guests gathered on a Tribeca Rooftop to celebrate the amazing work done by the Ali Forney Center. With all proceeds of the night benefiting homeless LGBTQ+ NYC youth, the community gathered to sip on Champagne, peruse the auction table and take turns dancing in the live-action photobooth.
“Tonight really celebrates the community that gets us through this work. What I am looking forward to tonight is the celebration of our community, the unity, the support that is built through the understanding of the plight of our homeless LGBT youth,” said Alexander Roque, president and executive director of the Ali Forney Center. “What’s unique about this event, including the raffle, is that 100% of the money raised goes towards the cause. The overhead is all covered through sponsorship, and everything else actually goes directly to our mission.”
In between admiring the New York City skyline and bidding on auction items, guests enjoyed an amazing lineup of performances hosted by comedian and actress Sydnee Washington. Right before the Drag Queen JAX took the stage, actor, and model Max Emerson jumped in to say a few words about his work with the Ali Forney Center and propose to his boyfriend! The surprise proposal and exclamation of love reinvigorated a joyous energy that remained present until the very end of the beautiful night.
