Images of the Week: Anna Wintour and Baz Luhrmann Celebrate Elvis

This week, Anna Wintour and Baz Luhrmann hosted an intimate screening of Luhrmann’s new film Elvis, starring Austin Butler. In attendance at the DGA theater in Midtown Manhattan were Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Alton Mason, Vera Wang, and Victor Glemaud, among others.

It was a big week for performers. On Sunday, stars like Ruth Negga, Cynthia Erivo, and Jessica Chastain attended the annual Tony Awards, where the musical A Strange Loop and the play The Lehman Trilogy won big. We also got a look at Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in character as Barbie and Ken in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie based on the dolls. Let’s just say, they nailed the “life in plastic” look. And drag queens competing on this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race nailed their unofficial competition of recreating Vogue covers. Monet X Change is uncanny as Oprah.

Finally, Virgil Abloh’s legacy has inspired a new partnership between Harlem’s Fashion Row and LVMH North America. The new initiative aims to help young designers of color navigate the industry and foster their talent through mentorship programs.
