Fast-forward to 2025, and Vogue World will enlist the help of several renowned costume designers for its movie magic—including Phillips (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), who was introduced by Ghesquière, Colleen Atwood (Edward Scissorhands), Catherine Martin (Moulin Rouge), and Ruth E. Carter (Black Panther). Atwood’s participation is particularly meaningful: the Academy Award winner lost her home in the Palisades fire this past January.

They’ll be joined by a few fashionable friends. Dame Pat McGrath is in charge of makeup, Juan Costa Paz will act as creative director, and stylist Alex Harrington will oversee fashion. Meanwhile, students from UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television s Costume Design program will help with production. Visit West Hollywood, the Los Angeles based tourism board, will assist with hospitality and lodging. Then, there’s the state of California itself: The press conference ended with remarks from Governor Gavin Newsom. “We re here in L.A.. It s the most diverse city, in the most diverse region, in the most diverse state, in the world s most diverse democracy of the United States of America. I say this because it needs to be said—it s a point of pride,” he said.
“It s a grounding point that reinforces the why this industry film industry was born in this great state." Then, the governor pledged his support for increasing the Film and Television Tax Credit Program in California to ensure more productions can shoot in the Golden State.

Although there s a lot more than movies happening in Los Angeles: Casey Wasserman, chair of the L.A. Olympic committee, reminded the crowd that the Super Bowl, World Cup, and the Olympics will all take place in the city over the next few years. “In many ways, that journey starts with Vogue World: Hollywood coming to Los Angeles this October.”

Below, go inside the buzzy opening announcement. And—to put one more spin on a famous movie line—on October 26, we’ll be back.
