At Nordstrom, the 2022 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Winners Celebrated in Style

“I really do believe we birthed a new generation of talent, and we do that with the support of the industry,” says Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA. In an annual tradition, industry leaders gathered at Nordstrom’s American Bar—located at the flagship store in Manhattan—to celebrate the 2022 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipients (naturally, in great style).
Amongst the attendees were Nordstrom’s Jian DeLeon, designer Christian Cowan, Sally Singer, Jacquelyn Jablonski, and Paloma Elsesser. “When I think largely about legacy and how these things work to be an instrument in someone’s process or [to be a] mentor in any way feels really cool,” Elsesser tells Vogue.
Each of the ten designers (with a bonus 11th courtesy of designer-duo No Sesso) offers a distinctive point of view that is unique to their vision but, most of all, timely to today’s world. In the buzzing space, guests could be spotted wearing pieces from the current CVFF class. Guests of Abijako wore Head of State past and present, and designer Aurora James sported Black Boy Knits.
As the CVFF community continues to grow and commemorate emerging talent, it also continues to support past recipients of the distinguished award. Previous winners, including Siyinq Qi of Private Policy and Danielle Frankel of her namesake brand, joined the crowd to congratulate the new and next designers as they once stood in their place.
Following 2021’s fund format, this year CVFF designers won an equal cash prize alongside mentorship from industry experts. This year’s designers include Jacques Agbobly of Black Boy Knits, Elena Velez, Felisha Noel of Fe Noel, Lauren Harwell Godfrey of Harwell Godfrey, Taofeek Abijako of Head of State, Conley Averett of Judy Turner, Colm Dillane of Kidsuper, Pia Davis and Autumn Randolph of No Sesso, Omar Salam of Sukeina, and Jackson Wiederhoeft of Wiederhoeft.
The 2022 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund designer collections are now available for purchase at Nordstrom.
