Last night at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles, Awkwafina stepped onto the red carpet in an ethereal marigold-hued Elie Saab gown and a bright red pout that has become something of her beauty signature. She was nominated again for her work in The Farewell after becoming the first Asian-American woman to win best actress in a musical or comedy for the role at the Golden Globes. But before the festivities got going, Awkwafina prepped at home with her trusty glam squad (and beloved cat, Gus).
"I was truly inspired by the powerful golden yellow tones in Awkwafina’s dress," says makeup artist Kirin Bhatty. "I think there is something so powerful and uplifting about yellow that it calls for statement makeup that’s equally bold." Along with a set of floral drop earrings and shimmering golden lids, Awkwafina s glowing ensemble stood out among the evening’s stars.
For the final touch, Bhatty swiped on Dior s semi-matte orange-red Trafalgar shade, its candy-colored vibrancy in part inspired by the Irene Neuwirth jewelry Awkwafina wore.
