Ayo Edebiri Is Turning Press Tour Style Inside Out

In this era of relentless method dressing, Ayo Edebiri is falling back on the time-honored tradition of simply…dressing well. Promoting both Inside Out 2 and the third season of The Bear, the actor and her stylist, Danielle Goldberg, were tasked with doing double duty on two very different projects. Together, it’s safe to say that they succeeded in fashioning a (blessedly) theme-free press tour. (One notable exception was Edebiri’s custom seafoam Bottega Veneta Bermuda short suit, which she wore to the premiere of Inside Out 2. But since the look she employed to channel her teal-hued character, Envy, is a close interpretation of an existing pre-fall 2024 look, we’ll give it a pass.)

Goldberg continued to etch out Edebiri’s place in the canon of cool girl muses, dressing her in the hippest brands du jour. One standout recurrence on this round of press was power clashing. For one outing, she wore a funky mishmash from Dries Van Noten’s spring 2024 collection: a shimmering beaded vest over a striped button-up, with a psychedelic printed asymmetrical skirt, and strappy mahogany heels worn over geometric, calf-length socks. In another instance, she turned to Marni, wearing a striped midi dress over a striped long sleeve tee.

While Edebiri wore trendier looks than we’re used to seeing on her, she pulled them off effortlessly. In Loewe, she livened up the ultra-popular suit vest top by leaning into the masculine; she paired it with a pair of olive green barrel trousers outfitted with utilitarian hardware, oversized sunglasses, and square-toed boots.
