Don’t call it a comeback or a fleeting trend. The bangle bracelet has proven to be a hero in any wardrobe for quite a few seasons now. I’ll never forget the opening look of Alaïa’s fall 2022 presentation: a sleek long-sleeve black turtleneck that was amplified by four sculptural cuffs stacked on top of each other. That was just the beginning of the click clacking revival of the bangle.
Vogue’s Guide to the Most Coveted Cuffs:
- The Silver Star: Anthropologie grooved cuff, $48
- The Golden Deluxe: Amber Sceats cuff bracelet, $88
- The Sculpted Design: Alexis Bittar hinged cuff, $275
- The Optical Illusion: Tory Burch wave bracelet cuff, $398
- The Work of Art: Georg Jensen curve cuff bracelet, $800
- The Luxe Investment: David Yurman sculpted cable cuff, $1,450
Fast forward to today, where we’re seeing designer after designer rely on chunky wrist wear to punctuate outfits. For the spring 2024 collections, Carolina Herrera accented black evening separates with a double serving of hypnotizing gold bangles. And Chloé intensified the drama on ruched dresses with cuffs molded into the shape of calla lily petals.
And it’s not just the after 5 PM looks that are benefiting from the dazzling aura of the cuff bracelet. These bold pieces of jewelry pair exceptionally well with casually cool denim outfits, too. Most recently, Loewe uplifted an outfit that included a brown leather blazer, jeans, and fisherman sandals with a wavy bangle.
Swapping a dainty tennis bracelet for an architectural cuff is the sartorial equivalent of erasing a period and putting an exclamation point at the end of a sentence.
If you’re thinking the bangle’s moment will be here today and gone tomorrow, think again. Come next fall the trend will pick up even more speed, thanks to cuffs spotted on the fall/winter 2024 runways at Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Gabriela Hearst.
There’s no right or wrong way to wear the bangle. Go all out, mixing and matching metals, and geometric silhouettes. To jumpstart the arm candy party, we’ve gathered 20 of our favorite bangle bracelets ahead.
