With awards season, fashion week(s), and celebrities dolling up for the opening of a paper envelope, this week in celebrity beauty has been vast. So welcome back to Beauty Marks, where Vogue selects the best in beauty each week. Don’t forget, too, that we’ve just celebrated Valentine’s Day—romantic glam, sensual hairstyles, date-night ready manicures, kissable lip combos abound. We’re on the countdown to the Academy Awards, post-BAFTAs and pre-SAGs, so expect some last minute swings at the industry gongs with eye-catching beauty moments.
So here’s your brief on the week in celebrity beauty: Kylie Jenner gave her stamp of approval for the soap nails trend, while Zoe Saldana brought coquette back with some serious hair bowage. With a stop-off in Thailand, The White Lotus’s third season premiere runs have shown Lisa’s current beauty aesthetic in full bloom.
And then, what’s that? Heathcliff! It’s Jacob Elordi, with sideburns! Gone is the impressively bushy beard that the Saltburn actor sported at the Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco back in December: now, it’s all about the 17th century mutton chops. Over to Keke Palmer, the actor was one of many feeling romantic this week, with a fresh manicure for Valentine’s Day that’s begging to be adding to your Pinterest board in time for your next nail appointment. And while we’ve been covering Saoirse Ronan’s style shift-of-the-ages wardrobe, we’re also in awe of all the chic up-dos she’s been sporting as of recent.
Then it was over to the experts, including Los Angeles-based manicurist Betina Goldstein—known for her intricate art on the tiny canvas that is her digits, this week’s nail innovation incorporated a seasonal favorite shade and some interesting choice of decals. London-based hairstylist Nicole Kahlani also introduced us to her concept, “Victorian blonde,” using her now signature shade of dirty blonde with sun-faded antique rose pieces, tying it all up in ultra-mini, plaited bows.

Nail artist and manicurist Betina Goldstein’s embellishments of choice on some hot red nails? These little critters— and they’re real deal ants (already deceased!). “I wanted to blur the line between the imagined and the real,” Goldstein wrote on Instagram. “This is a tribute someone special in my life who had an affinity for insects.”

The Outrun and Blitz actor won big at the IFTAs earlier this week, celebrating Irish film and television talent. Of course, then, she turned to an Irish glam team. Her hair was in a middle parting and tight bun, by Irish hairstylist Aidan Darcy, with a rose pink lip and a sweep of eyeliner by Vivien Pomeroy.

London-based hairstylist Nicole Kahlani has made dirty blonde her signature shade with clients. Now, she’s touting “Victorian blonde,” incorporating what she describes as sun-faded antique rose pieces, tying it all up in teeny tiny, plaited bows on musician Florence Rose.
