The Best Brooches at the 2025 Met Gala

Tonight, the 2025 Met Gala put a spotlight on Black dandyism—and slick suits dominated the evening, a fitting choice given the dress code called for a “Tailored For You” look. Punctuating all of those super-slick lapels: Luxurious brooches, which proved to be a breakout trend of the night—whether they were shimmering diamond styles or vintage crystal costume versions. These dazzling brooches added a dash of sophistication to all the more rigid formal tailoring looks.
Some of the standouts? Chance the Rapper shined in his Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Co. Daisy Bud brooch, made in platinum and 18-carat yellow gold with diamonds and rubellites of over three total carats. Both Usher and Paul Tazewell looked to Fred Leighton for their Art Deco diamond brooches, while A$AP Rocky wore a Bulgari High Jewelry brooch in pink gold with four round diamonds, four buff-top rubellites, 20 step-cut diamonds, and even more pavé-set diamonds.
Lewis Hamilton stood out in a Briony Raymond brooch from the 1980s made of white, yellow, and pink diamonds. Ayo Edebiri, meanwhile, chose a more whimsical piece to punctuate her thoughtful Ferragamo outfit: a 1966 Cartier clip brooch—shaped into a dog—made of 18-carat yellow gold, rubies, and enamel. It was sourced from 1966.
Vintage brooches also had a moment on the Met steps: Tessa Thompson chose a floral brooch from Saidian Vintage, while Colin Kaepernick donned an archival white gold brooch. Whether they were throwback designs or priceless diamond pieces, one thing was clear: Brooches were the dandy finishing touch of the night.
